Webinars

We offer webinars on CARICOOS wave and wind products. If you have a particular request, let us know and we will arrange something that fits your needs.

Educational exhibits

We provide this service to environmental fairs, university congresses, sporting events, among other events

  • Reservations: at least 1 month in advance of the event.

Talks

  • During the talk “Coastal Weather”
    participants will learn how to access real-time oceanographic data and how to interpret wind and wave forecasts.
    Audience: general public
  • Number of participants: varies depending on the selected mode
  • Duration: 1 hour
    Location: Upon request
  • Mode: in-person or virtual

Workshops

We offer educational workshops on the following topics: waves, wind and currents. In addition, we train teachers in the implementation of the Olas Educational Guide

  • Audience: general public, teachers and higher school students
  • Maximum number of people: 30 people per session
  • Duration: 1.5 – 2 hours
  • Location: Upon request
  • Mode: in-person

Research Lab Tours

You will visit the glider’s lab and other research labs where most of the CARICOOS
research instruments are maintained and/or refurbished.

  • Maximum number of people: 10 per session (two sessions max.)
  • Audience: general public and students
  • Duration: 2.5 hours (preferably from 9:00 a.m. 11:30 a.m.)
  • Location: Isla Magueyes, Department of Marine Sciences (Lajas, PR)
  • Mode: in-person

Advice on data interpretation

We help you read our products, search for historical data, scientific publications
and/or develop science fair projects.
